She was using it with her 6th grade Literature class. I began to play around with it and found many uses in my 6th grade math classroom too. Your ideas will help me to continue to broaden how I use Flickr in my classroom - thanks!Anne Johnshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16452071483402776830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6864323.post-68307182783555554382008-06-29T10:49:00.000-04:002008-06-29T10:49:00.000-04:00Here are some posts I put a while ago about other ...Here are some posts I put a while ago about other digital images sites:

A Great Resource for Digital Images

Using the Internet to Acquire Digital Imagesmisterteacherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05694937864430889391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6864323.post-37975146171381113932008-06-17T12:13:00.000-04:002008-06-17T12:13:00.000-04:00Thank you for reminding us to be cautious when usi...Thank you for reminding us to be cautious when using the Internet with our students. There are so many great tools available for educators, but there are bad things that can leak through as well.Gingerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14384247051794126026noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6864323.post-76357337442948737152008-06-10T09:58:00.000-04:002008-06-10T09:58:00.000-04:00For some reason Flickr was blocked at my school al...For some reason Flickr was blocked at my school all year until the last few weeks of school.

I was actually using it in school (not with my students) and there was inappropriate material getting past the filters!misterteacherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05694937864430889391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6864323.post-69532012265794621862008-06-09T08:19:00.000-04:002008-06-09T08:19:00.000-04:00Thanks James for an excellent post. No matter what tag I used, inappropriate and unrelated photos would show up. It's only a matter of time before districts start blocking the site, as they do YouTube.

So my question is: What alternatives are there? So far, TeacherTube and VoiceThread have self-policing, where inappropriate material gets bumped. I use them a lot.Mike Frerichshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10290731908097927886noreply@blogger.com
